VINYL ALBUM
For this vinyl album project, I began by researching the mood of the music and building a concept that felt intense, chaotic, and emotionally charged. I focused on creating a distorted, expressive portrait that visually represents the album’s theme, using dramatic lighting, bold outlines, and twisting organic shapes to convey tension and movement. Throughout the process, I experimented with layering, contrast, and color to achieve a surreal, high-impact look, refining the palette to balance dark, moody tones with vibrant highlights.
PALETTE
This bold purple brings a surreal, emotional intensity to the design. It emphasizes the expressive, dramatic elements of the face and enhances the album’s unsettling, dream-like atmosphere.
The deep blue adds depth and contrast, grounding the palette with a cooler, mysterious tone. It balances the brighter colors while reinforcing the dark, moody energy of the artwork.
This vibrant yellow highlights the twisting shapes, creating movement and visual tension. It contrasts sharply with the darker tones, making the chaotic elements stand out and adding a sense of urgency.
Black serves as the anchor of the palette, enhancing the overall darkness and edge of the design. It gives the artwork a gritty, dramatic tone and allows the brighter colors to pop with high impact.
